as well as clear and transparent internal competitions for all.

Youssef Hassani, security agent at DG SAFE and President of the Delegation of security agents
highlights the importance of a constructive social dialogue and upholding career opportunities.

Paolo Polti, security agent at DG SAFE and longstanding member of the Staff Committee
shares his expertise in listening, supporting colleagues and finding solutions.

Leif Sivot, contract agent in the area of IT and Secretary of Ethos Europe,
underlines the importance of clear and transparent procedures, merit-based appointments and ethics at work.
Giving access to contract agents to internal competitions is a strong collective achievement
and we need to explore all possibilities offered by the Staff Regulations to provide stability and defend our colleagues with conviction.

underlines the importance of retaining the talent and expertise of our contract agents
as well as working together with the management our institution to find constructive solutions.

Meet Fernando SUAREZ MELLA
& Roberto AQUINO

In this special video edition,

our lead candidate and the current Chair of the Staff Committee

introduce Ethos Europe’s values as well as their own commitment to supporting

both the colleagues’ well-being and the institution’s general interest

without being subservient.

 

Fernando Suarez Mella, Chair of the Staff Committee,

and member of Ethos Europe’s Executive Committee,

explains the reasons why he joined Ethos Europe.

And then looks back at the long and rewarding career

of a soon-to-be-retired administrator,

crowned by the chairmanship of the Staff Committee.

Putting ethics and deontology ahead is something that really pleases me

and also the fact that we are not a union but a professional organisation,

and I like the fact of putting professionalism on top”.

 

Roberto Aquino, Advisor for Social Dialogue at DG LINC,

President of Ethos Europe and member of the Staff Committee,

highlights the importance of competence and merit in recruitment and career advancement,

together with a good managerial class to lead the way,

and better career prospects, particularly for Contract Agents.

A personal attention to those professionals who provide very specific services to the institution such as Interpreters (DG LINC), Translators (DG TRAD) and Security agents (DG SAFE), they deserve special care and attention from all of us.
